White Salmon, Wash. – Skyline Hospital is hosting a community blood drive on Wednesday, November 28 from 12:30 – 5:30 p.m., in its downstairs meeting space, which overlooks the Columbia River Gorge. Donors should come through the main entrance of the hospital.
“The American Red Cross urges eligible donors to give blood to help ensure a sufficient blood supply for patients now and throughout the year,” said Debi Budnick, Skyline Hospital’s health and wellness coordinator. “Donating blood is literally giving the gift of life. There is simply no substitute. Without volunteer donors, our community would not have an adequate community blood supply.”
Identification is required to donate. Donors need to bring a drivers license or two other forms of identification in order to give blood, as well as the names of medications currently being taken. The Red Cross also suggests eating a light meal and drinking plenty of water.
